Loan or line?

Unsecured term loan
One lump sum, repaid on a fixed schedule. Good for a single planned expense.
Line of credit
A limit you draw against when you need it. You pay interest only on what you have drawn, and repaying frees the credit up again.

What “unsecured” does and doesn’t mean

No building or piece of equipment is pledged, so there is nothing specific for the lender to take. That is why these loans lean so heavily on the business’s track record.

It does not usually mean no liability. Most lenders ask the owners to personally guarantee the debt, and many file a UCC-1 lien that gives them a general claim on business assets. We’ll show you exactly what a given offer includes before you sign.

A good fit when

  • You need working capital for inventory, payroll, or a seasonal gap.
  • You are waiting on receivables and want a cushion.
  • You don’t own real estate, or don’t want to tie it up.

What to have ready

  • Three to six months of business bank statements
  • Most recent business tax return
  • A list of current business debts

Ranges shown are typical of the market as of 2026, not quoted terms. This page is general information, not a commitment to lend. Every loan is subject to underwriting and approval, and actual terms depend on the property, the business, and the borrower. Adelante Group is a loan broker, not a lender; loans are made by our lending partners.
